The world is recognizing the urgent need for sustainable investment. Suriname — one of only a few carbon-negative countries — offers a distinctive setting for nature-based climate projects. Through the BambooBond, SUBACO International N.V. is developing the country’s bamboo economy.
Why Suriname matters. Suriname’s forests absorb more carbon than the country emits, making it a leader in nature-based climate solutions. With government support and a clear regulatory framework, it offers a stable environment for green-economy development.
Bamboo: a renewable resource. Bamboo is fast-growing and sequesters carbon as it grows. It can be transformed into construction materials, biochar, textiles, and renewable energy — among the most versatile sustainable resources available.
The BambooBond. The BambooBond is a proposed Suriname-domestic bond intended to finance bamboo plantations, processing infrastructure, and carbon-credit certification. It is structured for investors residing in Suriname, Curaçao, and Sint Maarten. Detailed terms, bond structure, and conditions will be set out in the Prospectus when published.
The impact. Beyond environmental benefits, the project supports rural employment, local communities, and land restoration in the project regions.
Subscription period and terms will be announced following completion of regulatory approvals. To register interest, join the waiting list. Information on this site is provided for residents of Suriname, Curaçao, and Sint Maarten.
